Peter Kasabach, Executive Director
Peter has been actively engaged in the areas of housing and sustainable development and community revitalization for the past 19 years. Before taking the helm of New Jersey Future in December 2007, he was chief of policy and community development for the New Jersey Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency, where he guided investment programs and developed a comprehensive state housing policy for use by the Department of Community Affairs. Prior to joining the HMFA, he oversaw all planning and real estate development activities for Isles, a private nonprofit community development organization in Trenton. Peter is a licensed New Jersey Professional Planner and holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. You can contact him at pkasabach@njfuture.org.
Jay Corbalis, Policy Analyst
Jay Corbalis works on policy research and analysis on a variety of topics related to smart growth, including transportation, brownfields, workforce housing, regional planning and greenhouse gas emissions. He is responsible for federal and state transportation policy, regional planning and facilitating the Trenton Train Station Citizen's Advisory Committee. Jay is also the author of many editions of Future Facts, frequently testifies on behalf of NJ Future and legislative and committee hearings, and launched NJ Future's blog, Garden State Smart Growth. Jay joined New Jersey Future in June of 2007 after graduating from Cornell University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Urban and Regional Studies. B. Tim Evans, Director of Research
Tim is responsible for the collection and analysis of data used in planning and policy development, and also serves as New Jersey Future's transportation policy specialist. Tim holds a master's degree in city and regional planning from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University, and also holds a master's in statistics from the University of Virginia. His career experience includes six years as a mathematical statistician for the Bureau of the Census in Washington D.C. You can contact him at timevans@njfuture.org.
Dan Fatton, Director of Outreach and Development
Dan is responsible for developing relationships with individual and corporate donors, as well as managing the sponsorship components of the Smart Growth Awards and the Redevelopment Forum. He has considerable experience in fundraising, most recently, managing the New Jersey State Employees Charitable Campaign. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University and just before joining New Jersey Future, he spent five weeks studying the transportation system in Curitiba, Brazil. Marianne Jann, Manager of Office and Budget
Marianne is an accountant who has primary responsibility for all office administration, including budgeting, financial record keeping and database management. She earned her accounting degree from the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science, and served as an auditor for a public accounting firm in Trenton. Teri Jover, PP, AICP, Managing Director
As Managing Director, Teri focuses on public policy analysis and development of smart growth initiatives at the community level, especially redevelopment issues. She holds a master's degree in City and Regional Planning from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. Teri is the author of a case study on the Merrill Lynch development in Hopewell and the creator of the “Smart Growth Scorecard.” Her career experience includes serving as project coordinator with the City of New Brunswick Department of Planning, Community and Economic Development. Rick Sinding, Senior Communications Consultant
Rick has had a 35-year career in journalism, government and nonprofit management in New Jersey. He has been a reporter with the Trenton Times, an editorial writer with the Bergen Record, editor of New Jersey Reporter magazine and managing editor of The Princeton Packet. Rick served in the Byrne administration as communications director for the State Energy Office and the Department of Health, and in the Florio administration as policy advisor to the governor and assistant commissioner for policy and planning in the Department of Environmental Protection. He was also the DEP's representative to the State Planning Commission, and was vice chairman of the Regional Planning Board of Princeton. He was president of the Center for Analysis of Public Issues and executive director of New Jersey HealthDecisions: A Citizens' Committee on Biomedical Ethics. Chris is responsible for policy development and advocacy in the areas of state and regional planning and land conservation. She holds a masters degree in Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University where she concentrated on Urban and Regional Planning. Her career experience includes serving as the Assistant Director of the Capital City Redevelopment Corporation, as well as working for the MSM Regional Council (now PlanSmart NJ), the Eagleton Institute, and the Office of State Planning.
