New Jersey Future's Smart Growth Awards highlight businesses, developers and communities who are working to revitalize New Jersey. This year, we honored seven redevelopment projects that focus on the preservation and renewal of local communities.
NJF Smart Growth Pioneer Award
To Verizon, for spurring the redevelopment of an important business district in Newark with the staff expansion at its corporate headquarters and the renovation of its historic building.

To Group USA, developer, and the city of Englewood, for perseverance in launching a turnaround of downtown Englewood.
To the City of Hoboken and the Port Authority, for the renovation of the Hoboken Waterfront and creation of the Hoboken Waterfront Park.
To Pennrose, developer, for its adaptive reuse and rehabilitation projects in Edison, New Brunswick and Red Bank.
To ReNEWal Realty, developer, for its renovation of an important shopping center into a town center in Willingboro.
To RPM Development, developer of Bakery Village in Newark, and DCA, for their partnership in turning an old bakery into environmentally friendly senior housing.
To the City of South Orange and LCOR, developer, for residential, business and cultural redevelopment in the downtown-train station area.
