Together North Jersey Fair Housing and Equity Assessment Workshop

December 15, 2014
10:00 amto12:00 pm

Please join Together North Jersey and PlanSmart NJ for a workshop to finalize the draft recommendations of the Regional Fair Housing and Equity Assessment on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 10 am to 12 pm at Rutgers-Newark. Please register in advance of the meeting and for more information on the workshop, please click here.

In November 2011, HUD awarded a $5 million grant to Together North Jersey to develop a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development. As part of this plan, PlanSmart NJ, in collaboration with Rutgers University, prepared a draft Regional Fair Housing and Equity Assessment to identify barriers to fair housing and recommendations for improving opportunities for fair and affordable housing in the region. To learn about the Regional Fair Housing and Equity Assessment, clickhere.

The purpose of the meeting is to:

  • Hear an update on where we are in the process and where we are going (we are in the home stretch!)
  • In-depth review of high priority strategies based on their cost, feasibility, and impact.
  • Recommend high priority strategies for inclusion in the Regional Plan for Sustainable Development.

In the afternoon, there will be a Standing Committee meeting to discuss strategies for the Together North Jersey Regional Plan for Sustainable Development on transportation, housing, economic development, arts and culture, health and safety, education, and the environment. You are welcome to stay and participate at this meeting. Please register for the Standing Committee meeting here.
