Engagement by Design: a discussion on innovative engagement tactics

Since the Hurricane Sandy Competition ended there have been almost 400 public meetings with communities to help shape the projects. Rebuild has been observing these meetings and have chosen the Best Practices of Community Engagement. This event will explore four of the best practice examples from the government and community perspectives.

Examples to be explored include: virtual reality, decoding the EIS, implementation principles and how physical spaces can invite conversations.

Policy by Design: a discussion on rebuilding with resilience

A discussion on the policy aspects of projects from the Hurricane Sandy Competition Projects including green infrastructure, regional coordination, coastal defenses and institutionalization. The report, Rebuilding with Resilience Policy Report outlines the opportunities learned from the Sandy projects other cities can address to build resilient infrastructure.
