Jersey Water Works Co-Sponsors New One Water Awards Program

June 12th, 2017 by

Jersey Water Works, the statewide cross-sector collaborative focused on upgrading New Jersey’s outdated water infrastructure, has partnered with the Association of Environmental Authorities (AEA) and the American Water Works Association – New Jersey Section to debut the New Jersey One Water Awards, which will recognize water infrastructure programs or projects that address water issues on a holistic and sustainable level.

The organizations are jointly sponsoring the awards to spotlight those programs that exemplify integration across the water cycle, that reflect collaboration, innovation, and public education, and that advance long-term sustainability by meeting multiple needs and generating multiple benefits.

“This is an exciting collaboration with AEA and AWWA, where together we will spotlight those programs in the state that manage water holistically in ways that benefit their host communities,” said Mark Mauriello, co-chair of the Jersey Water Works collaborative, of which New Jersey Future is a member.

The One Water Awards will be presented in three categories: public, private and non-profit/academic. Eligible projects or programs must be located in New Jersey and, for projects, must have been completed within the past five years or, if under construction, must be at least 50 percent complete. Submissions must be received by midnight Sept. 30, 2017. For complete awards program rules, visit the New Jersey One Water Awards section on the Jersey Water Works website.

Honorees will be announced at the AEA conference in November 2017 and recognized at events including the Jersey Water Works conference in December 2017 and the AWWA conference in March 2018.
