National Disaster Resilience Competition Meadowlands Residents’ Meeting

October 5, 2015
6:30 pmto9:30 pm

The meeting is being co-organized by New Jersey Future.

The federal government has created a national competition for $1 BILLION in funding designed to assist communities to become more resilient to disasters. New Jersey is applying for more than $326 million for berms in the Meadowlands, a NJTrasnit Garage in Teterboro and resiliency planning assistance to municipalities throughout the state. This application proposes a pilot project area in the municipalities of Carlstadt, East Rutherford, Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Moonachie, Rutherford, South Hackensack, Teterboro, and Wood-Ridge.

It is critical that the state hear everyone’s thoughts on how this money should be spent. This project will affect neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and quality of life.

This FREE informational meeting is for residents to find out more about this application. Assistance in providing comments will be available.

Location: North Jersey Vineyard Church, 370 North St., Teterboro
