Urban Agriculture Conference

The New Jersey Urban Mayors Association will convene the 2016 Urban Agriculture as an Economic Development Tool conference. It is free for all NJUMA members and their staffs. Attendees will be introduced to the economic possibilities that exist through urban agriculture. Participants will gather and demonstrate their commitment to the shared goals of creating jobs, growing our economy and improving our quality of life.

Location: Patriots’ Theatre, War Memorial, Trenton

Improving Regional Water Quality in the Face of Climate Change

Funding Walkable and Bike-Friendly Communities — North

Attend this workshop to learn more about the funding opportunities available to help create and maintain safe, walkable and bikeable environments in your town that provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to travel safely.

Workshop topics include:

  • Tips and strategies for applying for federal and state grants that can make your project a reality.
  • Tactics for applying to the grant solicitations from the New Jersey Department of Transportation in Safe Routes to School and Transportation Alternatives funding.
  • Sustainable Jersey actions aimed at implementing pedestrian and bike friendly policies and environmental changes.
