Coastal Resiliency: Atlantic City Seawall Tour

July 25, 2018
5:30 pmto7:30 pm

Join Urban Land Institute and the Army Corps of Engineers for an informative tour on the Absecon Inlet seawall.

The Absecon Inlet seawall is an excellent example of an infrastructure project playing a dual role of functionality and economic development. Facing concerns over rising sea levels and increasing storm intensity, the Army Corps of Engineers broke ground in 2015 and recently completed the seawall. While the project’s primary focus is climate change resiliency, it enabled extension of the boardwalk to link popular entertainment enclave, Gardner’s Basin, to the rest of the Atlantic City ocean front and southern shore towns of Ventnor and Margate through bicycle and pedestrian accessibility.

Location: 60 North Maine Ave, Atlantic City NJ, 08401
