Tenisha Malcolm-Wint, MPA

Tenisha Malcolm-Wint, MPA serves as Vice President of External Affairs for Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey, where she leads partnership development, community engagement, advocacy alignment, and visibility efforts across the council’s footprint and statewide. Her work focuses on strengthening cross-sector relationships that expand access, elevate programming, and advance the Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character.

Tenisha holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Nonprofit Leadership from Kean University and a Bachelor of Arts from Bloomfield College. She also earned a Professional Certificate in Creative Placemaking from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Prior to joining Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey, Tenisha served as Director of the Urban Mayors Policy Center at the John S. Watson Institute for Urban Policy and Research at Kean University, where she supported the Institute’s efforts to assist member mayors of the New Jersey Urban Mayors Association (NJUMA) in addressing complex challenges facing urban municipalities. Her work bridged policy, practice, and community-centered solutions.

Earlier in her career, Tenisha worked with a range of national and community-based nonprofits, leading large-scale innovative programs, fundraising initiatives, and strategic development projects. She currently also leads a consulting firm providing services in community development, program design and evaluation, fundraising, and strategic planning—work grounded in her commitment to supporting community growth and innovation.

Tenisha is an active civic leader and volunteers as a board member for several organizations, including Urban Agriculture Cooperative, Boys & Girls Club of Union County, The BLOC Foundation, The Village Revival Project and the New Jersey School of Conservation.

Outside of her professional work, Tenisha finds her greatest joy leading hikes with Outdoors On Purpose, a community she founded to encourage Black and Brown individuals to find respite, connection, and joy in nature.
