Steven D. Weinstein has retired, having previously practiced law with Connell Foley, as of counsel, after serving as general counsel and executive vice president for government relations for Rowan University for a decade. In that role, he helped transform the university into one of the fastest growing public research universities in the country.
Prior to Rowan and drawing upon his extensive government relations experience, Steve regularly advocated with a wide range of state- and federal-level government agencies. He also served as special counsel to a number of governmental entities.
A former partner at Blank Rome and Florio Perucci, Mr. Weinstein was certified as a federal and New Jersey state mediator. During almost 50 years of practice, he developed additional concentrations in public finance practice, in local and state redevelopment and incentives and in administrative and government relations matters. He served as counsel for Camden County and as legislative aide to Assemblyman James J. Florio. He also served on the Haddonfield Board of Education for 12 years, including 6 years as its president. as well as on a number of charitable boards.
