  • New Jersey Future Appoints Four to Board of Trustees

    At its annual meeting Dec. 6, the New Jersey Future Board of Trustees welcomed four new members. The four – Larry DiVietro of Land Dimensions in Glassboro; Don McCloskey of PSEG; Wanda Saez of Wells Fargo, who returns to the board; and Eileen Swan of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation – bring a variety of experience and insight to help guide the organization.

    Sept. 24, 2012: New Jersey Future announced it has assembled a comprehensive database of development-related statistics for the state’s 243 transit stations and their surrounding neighborhoods.

    June 29, 2012 -- In response to the announcement of a conference committee deal to authorize the federal transportation program through September 2014, transportation advocates expressed disappointment at the bill’s lack of reforms and at provisions that would make it harder for communities in New Jersey to provide input on major projects and improve street safety

  • New Jersey Future Announces Smart Growth Award-Winners

    Seven projects and 24 honorees will receive Smart Growth Awards for initiatives ranging from a mixed-use brownfield redevelopment in Harrison (Hudson County) to a shopping center transformation in Somerdale (Camden County) to an innovative alternative to traditional zoning in Hammonton (Atlantic County) to an inter-municipal open space preservation project involving six municipalities in Passaic County.

    03/16/2012 -- Under Eileen Swan's watch, the New Jersey Highlands Council has become a national model for balanced natural resource protection. Other state entities would be wise to look to the successes in the Highlands as they seek to implement the new Strategic State Plan.
