Expanding Transportation Options
Transportation policy shapes how and where we build. When highways spur widespread commercial development, homes follow, triggering more traffic, more infrastructure costs, and a loss of open space.
Where we live also determines how we travel. Suburbs often lack transit access and are too spread out to walk or bike easily. As a result, many have no choice but to drive, which creates traffic, pollution, and social isolation for those without access to cars.
Our team is making New Jersey a more accessible, sustainable place to live. We work to promote more compact and well-connected development that reduces car trips, advocate for public transportation funding, and call for more Complete Streets and trails so New Jerseyans can safely walk and bike throughout the state.
