The NJ Spotlight Roundtable Series: The Growing Conflict Over Smart Growth

If New Jersey is ever going to embrace smart growth, advocates and stakeholders are first going to have to agree as to what it is — and isn’t.

The Christie administration isn’t waiting. It’s overhauling the State Plan and is about to adopt a new investment strategy that it claims will spur economic growth while preserving New Jersey’s few remaining open spaces and farmland. Can the administration’s vision prevail? That’s just one of the topics to be explored at the latest NJ Spotlight Roundtable: The Growing Conflict Over Smart Growth.

Moderator: Tom Johnson, environment editor and co-founder of NJ Spotlight.

Panelists include Peter Kasabach, executive director of New Jersey Future; Dan Kennedy of the state Office of Planning Advocacy; and Eileen Swan, former executive director of the New Jersey Highlands Council.

There is no fee, but you need to register.
