NAIOP Chapter Meeting: The Rise of Experiential Retail

Retail is changing dramatically: malls, town centers and urban shopping districts seek to attract people with food, fitness and fun; the loss of large-space tenants (JC Penny, Sears) is opening up opportunities for ecommerce fulfillment centers and other creative uses. Engagement by Design: a discussion on innovative engagement tactics

Since the Hurricane Sandy Competition ended there have been almost 400 public meetings with communities to help shape the projects. Rebuild has been observing these meetings and have chosen the Best Practices of Community Engagement. This event will explore four of the best practice examples from the government and community perspectives.

Examples to be explored include: virtual reality, decoding the EIS, implementation principles and how physical spaces can invite conversations.
